A Paw-rents Guide to an Outdoor Photo Session for Your Cat

As a fellow cat mom, I know how awesome it can be to get some amazing images of your cat that looks amazing as artwork for your home. They are your baby and when you have a session with me, I treat them as if they are my own and want them to have the most amazing time! Here are a few tips on how to make their photo session the best time ever:

  • Does your cat love to adventure out to trails, parks, or the beach? If they haven’t tried it before, it is usually a good idea to try it out first to see if your cat is receptive to an outdoor location.

  • Getting your cat used to a harness or walking on leash is a great way to allow them to have an outdoor session - and also to explore the outdoors and go on amazing adventures! There are lots of amazing harnesses that you can get for your cat and you can try them out at home as well and test out going outside in the backyard to get them used to it.

  • You can bring along a stroller or a backpack for your cat, which can be a great way to take them to the session location as well as a safe spot for them to rest or chill out in if they are getting overwhelmed.

  • Make sure to bring along lots of water, treats, and some of their favourite toys which can make them happy and bring out their playful side!

  • We can pick the location that works the best for your cat and discuss this more at your planning session before your photo session. Your cat’s safety and happiness is my #1 priority!
