Which location is best for you and your dog?

One of the things I don’t want you to have to worry about for your dog’s photo session is the location as I have lots of amazing places we can go here in Kelowna and the Okanagan that are dog-friendly and dog-safe, but the location can be a fun thing to think about for your session.

Which one is right for you?

Urban

  • Urban background to the images; cool backgrounds with lots of textures & city look

  • Your dog is good with a busy environment. They are always on-leash, but it there are lots of people and cars around, so your dog needs to be comfortable in this type of environment.

  • Can look really awesome in wall artwork done in metal which really makes the colours and textures really pop

  • Lots of variety in backgrounds as we can move around from one area to another within a short proximity while downtown Kelowna, Vernon, or Penticton

The Beach

  • Living in the Okanagan, this is one of my favourite places as a dog photographer to go for sessions as we are so lucky to be surrounded by so many beautiful beaches and by so many amazing lakes.

  • Can be right is you love the beautiful Okanagan mountains, lake, and beaches and love spending time their with your dog

  • Your dog is a total water baby and loves to be running around on the beach and splashing in the lake

  • Most of the beaches where dogs are allowed in the Okanagan are off-leash dog beaches, so your dog would need to be comfortable with other dogs that may approach your dog.

  • Can make for peaceful and beautiful artwork with the stunning Okanagan landscape in the background; or can be super fun images of your dog running and playing in the water

Parks or Trails

  • Your favourite thing to do with your dog is walking one of the Okanagan’s amazing trails or visiting one of the dog-friendly parks here.

  • We live in the mountains with tons of treed areas and it really makes for a gorgeous backdrop.

  • Your dog is on-leash as all of the dog-friendly trails and most of the parks are on-leash only, but I can always remove leashes afterwards in editing so you wouldn’t know the leashes were ever there.
